Zag Meteorites

The Zag meteorite fall was witnessed August 4 or 5, 1998 on a mountain near Zag, Morocco.  The total mass sold by the local people is estimated at 175 kg.  It is listed under the names Zag, Sagd and Tan-Tan.

It is a Stony meteorite Type Ordinary Chondrite (H3-6).  Scientists find this a most interesting meteorite as Halite crystals with water have been found in some specimens. Just click on the image for enlargements and pricing.
