Vaca Muerta Meteorites

The Vaca Muerta meteorite was found in 1861 in Taltal, Atacama, Chile.  The total mass is estimated at 99 kg.

It is a Stony-iron meteorite Type Mesosiderite (MES).  It features a nickel-iron and stony content in a breccia.  It may have been a soil on the surface of an asteroid.  This type of meteorite is rare with only 1.5% of falls.  Just click on the image for enlargements and pricing.
