Gold Basin Meteorites

The Gold Basin Meteorite was found on November 24, 1995.  It was discovered in Mohave County, Arizona in an area of arroyos draining the White Hills by Professor Jim Kriegh while prospecting for gold with a metal detector.  1484 stones had been discovered as of 1997 with a total mass of 61 kg.

This is a Stony Meteorite type L4 Chondrites with low iron (5 to 10% metallic iron).  This type of meteorite constitutes 34.8% of falls.  Just click on the picture for enlargements and pricing.
