Chinga Meteorites

The Chinga Meteorite was found in 1913 at Tanna Tuva, Tuvinskaya, Russia.  A total of 80kg were found in the Chinga Stream, a tributary of the Upper Yenisey from  the Tannu Ola Mountains.

This is a type Iron Ataxite, Ni-rich (IVB-ANOM) meteorite.  Ataxite meteorites are comprised of over 13% Nickel, almost pure Taenite.  The Chinga is 16.38% Nickel, shows no Widmanstatten Structure and is polished to a mirror finish.  Just click on the image for enlargements and pricing.
