Art Lory

Our Faceted Cut Stone collection features the work of Master Gemstone Cutter Art Lory.  At the young age of 80, he is still cutting beautiful faceted gemstones.  He started out in the lapidary arts as a hobbyist in 1961 by collecting rough and cutting it into beautiful forms and cabochons.  In 1991 he started devoting all his time to faceting for himself and a select group of clients from around the country. He also demonstrates and teaches faceting in the Las Vegas area and displays his works at many shows.  His masterpieces include the awesome Millennium Stone with 2000 facets cut from Atomic Lead Glass, the Patience II plus 24 with 736 facets cut from clear Fused Quartz and a 32 pt Swirl Cut Blue Topaz with 641 facets.  These exceptional stones are all shown below.  We are pleased to feature his works on our web site.

   
The Millennium Stone shown above measures 80mm x 43mm.  It was cut from a piece of Atomic Lead Glass, has 2000 facets and weighs 3969 carats.

     

The Patience II plus 24 shown above measures 85mm x 74mm.  It was cut from a piece of clear Fused Quartz, has 736 facets and weighs 2330 carats.

   

The 32 pt Swirl Cut shown above measures 52mm x 34mm.  It was cut from a piece of Blue Topaz, has 641 facets and weighs 482 carats.
